The Beginning

image1

Something pretty cool was up when Sheri Booth met Billy Keith Bucher and Tommy Aduddell. T. D. Wilt's open mic was alive with great tunes and good vibes. These seasoned musicians bonded over their shared passions for sound, rhythm and a good story. Each member of Relevant brings a unique musical aesthetic to the band and in just a few short months they have grown comfortable jumping genres and combining influences.

Starting out, the idea of forming another band was the last thing on our minds. After we did a few open mics and a month of local gigs, we realized we had something pretty tasty here. We really enjoy playing together and the sound was cool from the start.

Billy is a great percussionist and keeps the back beat steady while Tommy and Sheri bring their unique guitar skills and vocals to the mix.

It's a feel good vibe all around.

Billy Keith Bucher

BIO

Percussionist Billy Keith Bucher hails from Atlantic, Iowa, where he graduated high school. Billy’s life travels eventually taught him that he was destined to be “in the right place at the right time”.

The most electric thing which happened to Billy early on was meeting trombonist Rex Peer who had come off the road from world touring with the likes of Louie Armstrong, Benny Goldman and from being featured on Bob Dylan’s album Blonde on Blonde where he was showcased on the soulful tune “Rainy Day Women”. Rex introduced Billy to the world of jazz and classical music. Rex encouraged Billy to attend the University of North Texas where he studied music as well as creative writing. Billy joined the staff at the college paper and is an award-winning author.

Since then Bucher has played with numerous bands around the country. Some venues include Dallas, Austin, San Francisco, East Texas and included a trip to Acapulco, Mexico.

Bucher had the privilege of performing with artists such as Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, Country Joe McDonald, Jorma and Jack Cassidy, and Skip Spence of Moby Grape. Joplin herself gave Bucher a kiss on the cheek after playing an explosive jam session at the Golden Gate Park. Billy also found himself being showcased on percussion with Native American flute wizard Cornell Kinderknect.

Along the way Billy had the good fortune to perform with Ewing Street Times beside John Vandiber and Shake Russell.

Most recently Billy met the very talented Sheri Booth. They joined forces with Tommy Aduddell and put together a band project named “Relevant” and are currently performing around the East Texas area.

When Bucher isn’t performing music you will find him working on a showcase series of his short stories, blogs, favorite music articles, as well as a book of his memoirs.

Sheri Booth

BIO

Sheri  began performing professionally at age 16. She was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, moved to Austin in the late 70s, then to Tulsa Oklahoma in 1990. Sheri performed at the Bergstrom Air Force Base NCO club  alongside headliners such as, “Asleep at the Wheel” and “Cooter   Brown.”

She's won awards for her original songs and has 3 songs listed in the Billboard Charts with honorable mention.

Sheri  has performed on numerous television shows and was featured back-up  vocals for numerous radio commercials. She has worked with some pretty  talented folks and is honored to be a part of the Tulsa music scene for  over 18 years.

Sheri was invited as a special guest of Jim Halsey at his induction to the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and was also a special guest at the Tulsa Spot Awards.

Sheri, along with her band "Instant Karma", performed for the “Tulsa Blues  Festival” two  consecutive years, among other major functions. "Instant  Karma" won first place in the Tulsa’s Best Blues Band Contest. Sheri  has opened for  Ian Moore at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Aaron Neville at the Riverparks  Amphitheater in Tulsa, as well as sang the duet “You’re The Reason God  Made Oklahoma” with David Frizzell in Cookson, OK. Sheri was also a featured artist on  the “Up Late with Ben Sumner”  show out of Tulsa, OK.

More recently I was invited to open for Kadie Lynn of America's Got Talent at the 2019 ProJam in Kemp, TX. and I was  nominated for Acoustic Artist of the Year for the 2019 East Texas Music  Awards. I am super jazzed about that. I am back in the studio recording, working on new songs as well and continuing to do my art.

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out what I'm up to.

Relevant is my latest project with my two friends Billy Bucher & Tommy Aduddell. We really like playing music together. Come see us at a show!

Tommy Aduddell

BIO

Well...what can we say about Tommy? He is a super great guy that plays a sweet guitar. He sings like a bird. He has a great Van Morrison rhythm style. We really dig his song list. He hasn't sent me his bio yet so I'm winging it here. But, we like him a lot!
